Marbella has once again put the Costa del Sol at the very top of Spain’s luxury property market.
Villa Bellagio, an extraordinary estate on Marbella’s Golden Mile, has been named the most expensive home currently for sale in Spain, according to a ranking compiled by property portal Idealista.
The asking price?
€70 million.
And Marbella isn’t the only Costa del Sol location represented at the very top of the ranking. Three properties in Málaga province feature among Spain’s ten most expensive homes.
1. €70 Million for One Marbella Villa
Villa Bellagio sits on a huge 14,000m² private plot and offers approximately 5,600m² of built space, with panoramic views across the Mediterranean.
Designed by architect Jesús del Valle, the property won the Macael Award for Best Design in 2022.
The scale of the residence puts it in a category rarely seen even within Marbella’s ultra-prime market.
2. 13 Suites, a Cinema and Space for 42 Cars
Villa Bellagio has been designed more like a private resort than a traditional residence.
The property includes 13 suites, a spa, heated indoor swimming pool, hammam, Finnish sauna, gym, massage room, hair and nail salon, billiards room, bar, professional double bowling alley and a 22-seat private cinema.
Then there’s the garage.
A showroom-style space can display 12 vehicles, while an additional underground garage has capacity for another 30 cars.
The property also incorporates advanced smart-home technology controlling climate, lighting, entertainment and security.
3. €24 Million More Than Spain’s Second Most Expensive Home
The gap at the top of the ranking is significant.
Villa Bellagio’s €70 million asking price is €24 million higher than the second-most expensive property included in the ranking, which is priced at €46 million.
That places Marbella comfortably at the top of Spain’s ultra-luxury listings market by asking price in this ranking.
4. Benahavís Also Makes the Top 10 — Twice
The wider Costa del Sol also performs strongly.
La Madrugada, a 17-bedroom Hispano-Arabic-style estate in Benahavís, is listed for €34 million, placing it fourth in Idealista’s ranking.
Another Benahavís property, listed for €27 million, takes seventh place.
That means three of Spain’s ten most expensive homes in the ranking are located in Málaga province, while the remaining seven are in the Balearic Islands.
5. Marbella’s Ultra-Prime Market Continues to Make Headlines
The ranking arrives as Marbella continues to attract significant activity at the top end of the property market.
Separate figures presented at the Forbes Real Estate Forum Costa del Sol showed that one Marbella luxury agency recorded more than €70 million in completed prime-property transactions during the first half of 2026, with an average transaction value of €3.76 million.
The market is also evolving beyond the post-pandemic surge. Industry analysis presented at the forum described Marbella’s prime segment as moving toward a more measured phase of growth, while international buyers increasingly view the area as somewhere to live year-round rather than simply own a holiday property.
Marbella at the Top of Spanish Luxury Real Estate
From €20 million-plus penthouses and villas to estates such as Villa Bellagio, the Costa del Sol continues to operate in a different league at the highest end of Spain’s residential market.
A €70 million Marbella mansion taking the number-one position, alongside two Benahavís estates in the national top ten, underlines just how concentrated Spain’s ultra-prime property market has become around Marbella and the wider Costa del Sol.
For agents working internationally, it is another headline putting the region — and Spanish luxury real estate — firmly in front of the world’s wealthiest buyers.
